I did an interview with author Dr Simon Casey who specializes in helping people with addictions, mental illness and relationships. You can listen to it for free at my youtube channel. I hope this helps people out there that need information and support.
I’m going through withdrawals now its my second day and omg let me tell you. I started getting cramps could not sleep but to me worst of all are the nightmares. like you said i don’t feel like sleeping because of them.
Alcohol Withdrawals are more medically dangerous then Heroin withdrawls. Be careful in how much you drink. Drinking to get drunk is an eairly warning sign, don’t do it and don’t associate with people who do.
Doctor forgot to mention the terrifying, vivid nightmares you get. Tossing and turning. Only can sleep for 20 minutes at a time, then woken by horrible nightmares. I dread sleeping for what I’m going to see and remember. Scarier than any horror movie available.
I know how your uncle feels… I have those same problems. I think his advice of drinking in moderation is well said… Hope he’s doing better.
Tremors are horrible with my uncle… he hasnt drank a drop in 6 years so far. He wants to go buy alcohol like its a reutein for his work instead he buys lottery tickets instead of a 6 pack. Drink in moderation he always tell me.
THANK YOU Dr. Thomas for easing my mind.
Glad to know there is something out there about alcohol & substance abuse….I see so many people having to deal with this …
