Anxiety/withdrawal after quitting drinking?
I decided a month ago that I was going to reduce my alcohol consumption to nothing over a period of one month. I was regularly drinking between 13 and 16 beers a day everyday for going on 3 years. I reduced 1 beer about every 3 days until I was at 0 at the end of my month. I felt ok for the first 2 days on 0 but now after 4-5 days the anxiety is really bad along with ringing ears (more than normal for me) and trouble thinking. I feel like I am in a fog all the time! I was hoping that cutting down over the month would help to avoid any withdrawal but I don’t think it eliminated it altogether. Are the symptoms I am referring to normal in my situation and how long can I expect to have them. Thanks for the input.

Hey first of all congradulations! I’m so glad to hear about your decision to raise your standard. The best thing you can do to take the edge off is to Alkalize your body. Extra water and extra foods high in water during the day will take off the edge. Also replace the old pattern with a new one, maybe go out on a walk when you get those feelings, or exercise. Do something RAPIDLY different with your physiology (posture, body, movement) to break the old pattern. Emotions are a product of motion! Move your body, generate laughter and your life will never be the same. Also what do you focus on. Are your internal questions presupposing anything. Example: Why Am I such a failure? Presupposes that you are a failure. Asking How can i be less of a failure? Presupposes that there’s a way out!! Ask yourself good questions and brag about your progress. This will help generate great feelings. Good luck
[First of all note that I am not against drinking.] Well now that you are quitting, put it in a new point of view to avoid withdrawal. Call it something new.
What you are experiencing seems like you may not have noticed before because you were intoxicated. Since you were drinking beer, you were probably getting lots of water. By stopping you may not be getting as much water as your body is used to. Try drinking 8-10 cups of water every day.
