does anyone think that if an alcoholic starts smoking weed, like maybe a joint a day, that would help them lose their addiction to drinking?

jajajajajaja hahahahahah deam you really are dum person From one side of fance to another. From one addiction to another. Jus wisit a doctor! lol
Sure. Mairjuana is good, but when you’ve lost your alc addiction, cut down the joints to once a month, weed is good, but if you smoke it lyk once a month then its actually good for you, more than that and it will have an unhealthy effect on your lungs, and you will become a bit dissociated from lyf, weed is good occassionally with friends, but dont do it lyk a sport.
UPDATE: By the way you can’t get addicted to weed, so the above persons answer is utter bullshit.
i wouldnt think so.
But go for it, you might stop drinking
plus weed is better for you, alcohol destroys your liver, smoking once or 3 times a week wouldnt do much, or u can make brownies and its 100% not harming anything
I think it would help most people.
If you have an addiction a suggest you get some help with that and not try and use something else to get you to stop. What do you think will happen next after you switch to weed switch to crack?
Weed is good I drank alcohol and then started to smoke weed it was good but its not something I’d wanna do everyday because I’d kinda feel cracked out lol
Plus it might help because you DON’T want to drink and smoke at the same time cause it will make you sick trust me I did this before don’t do it it makes every thing worse you think once you drink a lot and get dizzy is bad try it with weed and everything is 10x worse especially throwing up it hurts like a son of a b**ch!
If you are already smoking marijuana, then I would say this might work. But, marijuana IS addictive. I grew up with a very close family member that has smoked weed their entire life, and this affected my childhood profoundly. Even if it is not physically addictive (like alcohol), an emotional addiction can be just as debilitating. Most likely, your addiction to alcohol has emotional components, as well. I would not start smoking marijuana as a substitute if you don’t already smoke it regularly. In addition to the risk of addiction, you have to think about the legal consequences if you were caught. Find another healthier substitute, start a drinking cessation program, and find support to help you. On the other hand, if you already smoke, handle one addiction at a time – alcohol first.
Note: Visit a doctor before you quit drinking, because alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous if you are highly addicted. And don’t be afraid to ask about the marijuana thing – it’s confidential.
Yea I do, marijuana has helped me in my own addictions, but that doesnt mean you shouldn’t try and get to the root issue. We dont become addicts for no reason, we become addicts because we lack the tools to deal with the many variants of pain we face in life, if your addicted to alcohol, you could easily trade one compulsion for another, and while its much healthier to be (mentally) addicted to pot, its still a form of dependency…
no, rather, you would like to take alcohol along with marijuana. in fact, marijuana and and alcohol have go well together – so is the concept. smoke joint for its own sake – not for the sake of quitting something else.
some people might call you an idiot but you are right on. weed dose help with alcohol addiction. people who drink heavily drink to find an answer, a solution to there problem. perhaps they hate their life or are depressed, but alcohol doesn’t solve these problems. when they smoke weed, it solves these problems. they can then ignore alcohol and keep smoking weed, and then get off weed easily because weed is not addicting. Marijuana is the most studied plant in the world, and there have been some studied that show it helps cure addiction to other drugs, particularly alcohol.
and as for mixing them both, if you are experienced with weed then OK, i like it myself, but only with small amounts of alcohol (say, 2 or 3 beers,), if you are really drunk and get high it will only make you feel worst.
