Do you know of anyone who has died from drug or alcohol addiction?

They say drugs and alcohol are responsible for millions of deaths worldwide.. I know two people who lost their lives to drugs. Hayden (32) and Charmaine (24) I live in South Africa.
If you know of any one let us know…
Isn’t scary how this silent killer most probably kills more people than aids and or war?

My Uncle died last summer of alcohol addiction it took over his liver. And he passed away from it.

I think I have had about 6 people die from drugs that I’ve known……mainly prescription overdoses
Yes, I know a few. I am not going to put names. I work in a field where drug overdoses are quite common.

My grandad who i never knew had a major alcohol problema nd pickled his liver, he died a few years ago from cancer i think, but most of his problems was cuased by alcohol…it might have been my randad..i dunno, i get confused, my uncles a alcohlic and a druggie…..i have a large family.
An acquaintance went to sleep on my friend’s couch, and was dead by morning from her alcohol & drug overdose. She left a 10 year-old daughter behind.
Well I heard my cousin did, I didnt know him though.
But my mother is a nurse at a drug rehab, so Im sure she knows a few.
And Im sorry about Hayden and Charmaine, may their souls rest peacefully.
well look at celebrities. there’s quite a few. janis joplin, jimmy hendrix, jim morrison, chris farley, john belushi, even recently brad renfro. all drug related deaths. my grandma died of alcohol. it’s not always an overdose, it can be a disease that formed as a result of abuse. sclerosis of the liver is alcohol related. or you can have heart failure after years of abuse. anyone killed by a drunk driving, alcohol is considered responsible. there really is a lot related to substance usage!
yes my ex boyfriend, he commited suicide because of drugs, he tried so hard to give them up but he couldn’t, mark was 28 at the time,
My cousin, Gary. He lived life hard and fast and died at 40 from an overdose of drugs and alcohol. He lived in Washington state in the U.S.
There is no such thing as an addict, just feeble minded people. Nobody is forced to smoke or drink.
If they died of an overdose then the death was self inflicted. In my view this is suicide.

Have had a couple friends from years ago. One od’ed on cocaine. He was found in his apt alone and dead and was only in his 30′s.
Another guy we knew was addicted to crack and jumped out of his brothers car (they were arguing about him getting more drugs) He died from a brain injury from jumping out of the car (while they were driving down the road)
Very sad…………………….
I have about nine friends and family members (that I know of) who has died from drug overdose. I don’t know of anyone who has died from the consumption of alcohol, however, i do know people who have died from the impairment of alcohol.
My father died from alcohol abuse.
My friends brother died in a alcohol related crash and he was only 14 the driver was driving drunk and crashed into a truck after running a red light.
I worked within the field of Mental Health Services and Substance Misuse Services for several years within the National Health Service here in the U.K, and sadly I saw a few clients for whom it was a little too late, either dying directly due to overdose, or drug/alcohol related illnesses. I have also known people to die of smoking related diseases. Nicotine, is by far the biggest social problem when it comes to drugs!
I sadly lost three friends in the same car accident when I was 19, (they were all 19 too). One had been drinking alcohol and decided to drive them all home after a party. Sadly, they never made it home, crashing the car into a field.
2 uncles & one Aunt (cirrohsis of the liver)al died in their 70′s
my brother at age 37, (found in the bus station bathroom with the needle still in his arm)
3 friends from narcotics anonymous who went back to using dope after years of being clean,….31, 48, 52
My brother in law got tossed off the top of a 15 story building in New York behind a coke deal gone bad (age 41)
The worst one however was one of my brothers boyhood friends who used too much acid etc. and never came down from his last trip. He’s still walking the earth-but his mind is mush!

1.Jen my friend died from a herione,cocaine,alchohal overdose.
2.My stepfather died from a pill addiction
Yes, One of my friends died from Drug over dose. She was 29 year’s old when she died. She passaway last year. It’s sad that what Drugs can do to people. Teen’s don’t really understand what Drugs and Alcohol can do to them. They think it’s just for fun and it will help them with their problem, it’s not.
