Characteristics of fetal alcohol syndrome symptoms include: stunted or diminished growth, low weight at birth and after birth, mental retardation (ranging from mild to severe), poor performance, mood swings, low IQ (in the 60s), small head size, abnormal posture, and heart murmurs (which may or may not go away.)

The consequences of fetal alcohol syndrome include deformities and impeded development, though there are doubtless other consequences to this condition as well. It is actually a series of defects, the most serious characteristic being a group of deformities of the head. Children born with fetal alcohol syndrome are also likely to suffer from delayed growth and development.

Alcohol withdrawal syndrome refers to symptoms which come about in an alcohol addict that has either curtailed or totally stopped the consumption of alcohol. These symptoms often occur after a person has been involved in alcoholism for a long period of time. Excessive consumption of alcohol often bring about tolerance as well as physical dependence. Your doctor will assist you to decrease the severity acute alcohol withdrawal syndromes. They give you a right way for treatment and restrict the symptoms to be worsened. You should also consult a physician if you have any psychological, heart, or lung disease. People who want to avoid alcohol intake, should also get support by friends and family. Your friends and family can assist you to reduce the anxiety and depression. They can also buck up your enthusiasm to restrict alcohol withdrawal syndrome. You should also spend time with your friends especially at the time of craving.

Though, alcohol withdrawal syndrome symptoms are difficult to cope but not impossible. So you should try hard to prevent yourself from alcohol abuse because it cause severe craving in individual. Alcohol abuse is also disastrous for liver and may cause cirrhosis of liver. Alcohol consumption may be lethal in cases of severe craving because the person loss the control over restriction of craving. People assessed with trauma conditions or with admitted to intensive care unit are usually prone to be found in the habit of regular intake of alcohol. And alcohol withdrawal syndrome or better termed as AWS is what they are ultimately diagnosed with. A many symptoms can indicate an alcohol withdrawal problem.
