Time it takes to recover from alcohol withdrawal?

I have been drinking daily for 2 years. I have been drinking on average 12-16 beers per day. Twenty five days ago I decided I was sick of drinking and decided to quit. Instead of enduring the bad withdrawal of going cold turkey I am tapering off. So far I am sticking to the plan and all is well in that area. I am down to 2 beers per day but the anxiety is really intense. I feel like I am wired and in a fog most of the time. I have 3 days of 2 beers per day (I drink ½ a beer every 4 hours or so to take the edge off) then I am going to nothing. Has anyone ever experienced a similar situation? When can I expect to feel good again? Please answer if you have been in a slimier situation or you are a health care professional.

What is a common sign of Alcohol Withdrawal

I have been drinking heavily every day the past 3 weeks. When I wake up my anxiety is through the roof. I feel like I want to jump out of my skin. I don’t have a hangover but I feel like being put to death. It lasts all day until I start drinking again. Is this a sign of alcohol withdrawal?

Paxil Linked To Dangerous Withdrawal Symptoms

Popular serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant drug Paxil has been linked to SSRI Discontinuation Syndrome, a severe and sometimes life-threatening condition that occurs upon withdrawal from the drug.

This is just one of many recent Paxil side effects, such as complications in pregnancy, increased risk of suicide and serotonin syndrome, that have brought the drug and its manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, under fire.

How do you test for Alcohol Withdrawal during autopsy?

My kids father died and after the autopsy no cause of death was found, blood and body fluid was sent off for toxicology. We were told it was probably Alcohol Withdrawal but wait for pending test. What test reveals AW?

Been on kinda a partying stinge with my friends for the past few weeks, but i already stopped and i want to know what withdrawal or mild symptoms i might face?

I’m on my second day of alcohol withdrawal and am having periodic panic attacks, nearly constant anxiety, and a rapid heart beat–which comes in waves.

I’m twenty-seven years old and otherwise healthy. Lying in bed all day has worsened the already-occurring insomnia and I feel I need to exercise.

Alcohol withdrawal?

I just read a good article on alcohol withdrawal. Is this what you all have experienced? What do you think of the article? Just curious…

p.s. I think it is good for people with drinking problems and responsible drinkers to leave posts in their forum, it supports a good cause…(okay, off the soap box, I apologize)

*** Do Not Quit Smoking! Click Here ***

If you want your smoking cessation plan to succeed, you have to be ready for all the difficulties you will encounter. You will have cravings that will test your will. You will start to make excuses as to why you should have “just one”. You will also experience some withdrawal symptoms that will make it very difficult to maintain your resolve.

Nicotine is a stimulant as well as a toxin. It works much like cocaine. Once your body, more exactly the brain, gets used to having a certain amount, it becomes dependent on it. When you quit smoking, and the nicotine levels start to decrease, your body starts to crave. This craving starts to wreak havoc on you. This is what we call withdrawal symptoms. Being aware of these symptoms will help you to deal with them more effectively. Knowing is half the battle to successful smoking cessation.
